Z5 battery life

my new Z5 only 5 days old has been running out of juice within 8 hours of light use.

battery stamina is on.

screen brightness only 14%

emails sync every hour instead of push

gmail on push

what could the problem be? the software updated when i was setting up the phone last week but apart from that same setting as my Z2 which can last slightly more than a day on same setting..

Well, first of all it takes some time before the battery reaches its maximum capacity. Second, which apps shows most power usage if you check the settings?

I've had my phone just under a week and notice the battery occasionally looses battery in 2% increments. Like now I had 95% and then it dropped to 93% dropping 2% and missing 94%? Any help guys?

The battery on the z5 is no where near as good as the z3 and sometimes I can lose it in 2% increments as well dunno if it is software I'm hoping so they can fix it so they can get it back to the standards of the z3. Or at least bring fast charger to Australia so I can charge it faster

Maybe it has something to do with been a new battery... I've only charged mine a few times. I'm draining my battery to 0% and then charging to 100% while switched off

right now google services and cell standby appears to be the top two taking up battery use.

all other functions i've used in my Z2 i used in my Z5 and the only difference is i felt the Z5 double tap to wake is much more responsive which is great but not sure if that affects battery life.

i dont used trusted places so that should not be a contributing factor.

this is day five last night i finished charging at 9pm.. i turned off everything from data wifi etc put the phone in standby and as of 958am this morning, with very light use, the phone is already at 60%.. certainly worst than my Z2..

We'll need more info to better assist you

charge the phone 100% use it as you normally would then once the battery reaches 10%

settings > power management > battery > take screenshots of:

1. the list

2. tap on the graph and take a screenshot

3. back > tap on the top 4 items on the list > take a screenshot of each

post them all here or upload the screenshots to box or dropbox or google drive or etc and post the link

yes same here as well, in normal mode it says 2 days battery life but now in full charge it says only 5 hours ??? what happened ? is this happened with me or with others as well ? im so pissed

i'm using the Tri Flat theme .. not some live theme that juice

i have 4 email accounts

2 are on refresh every hour

1 is on manual pull

1 push

same settings as my Z2. Batt stamina is on from 100%.

one thing i noticed is when i activate the restrict performance in batt stamnia, the battery dropped only 1 1% over the course of 1 hour. but it stops auto sync which defeats the purpose of having a smart device

after i deactivate it, the batt appear to drop 2% or more % every hour............

Tell me about it. I use mine the other day, not massive use. Watched a couple of YouTube videos, listened to music for about an hour. Had a podcast on for 90 minutes and had 17% battery left.

far worse than the Note 3 I upgraded from

over the weekend, i made the following changes

1. delete 2 email accounts which refresh hourly from the exemption list in battery stamina mode

2. activated extended usage function

3. removed an hourly update from another App.

seems to have some minor improvements. managed to drag battery life till end of day. see screenshots.

still not on par with Z2 and OS seems to be using up too much juice.. Sony! please fix!

Hi,

From all your screenshot it seems google play srvice is just there.

try this method to see if it gonna help to improve.

Check this out and let usd know if it work for you.

Get into phone settings > Security > Apps with usage access >

Off what you think that is not needed I.e if google play services seems the one that Drains the bat. try to switch it off and monitor for few days to see if this works well for you.
