I want to mention here i replaced the connector from a normal service centre shop. Sony Care are making fool their customer when they have to give the services after sell. Sony Care told me to change the motherboard which has the cost of 8000 INR and i changed the connector just of the cost of 400 INR. This is not acceptable SONY CARE.

Hi All,

Since few days i am facing problem in charging my phone Xperia SP. As per Sony care i restarted my phone and also checked in safe mode. Then they told me to visit SonyService Centre. As per my knowledge connector is the problem if it can be changed this issue will be charged, then i go to Sony Service Centre and they told to change the mother booard. I am shocked to hear the if the phone is working properly and charging is the only issue then why they want to change the motherboard and also the cost of motherboard is 8000 INR.

Please suggest what will be better way to solve this issue.

Thanks

If the motherboard its acting like the connector, then it has to be replaced and that's the most expensive part of a phone, almost as buying a new phone.

You will have to replace the motherboard, there are videos on youtube of people changing the connector but you can easily burn the phone.

This is my opinion. Changing the connector could go both ways, there are certain things that a repair center are allowed to do, my thought on this is that if the connector stops working they have to replace the motherboard as replacing the part could burn the motherboard.
