problems with charging, battery, Wi-Fi...

Hi there !

I think i need to talk to the support but first, i would like to see how far can help the community

Since i have my brand new C5 ultra dual (like 3 weeks ago), I have more and more problems with it !

First, it had a charging problem, the charging cable wasn't detected : solved by buying a new one.

A few days later, the phone came with a new problem, and the screen started to block during videos or musics and the sound blocks too ! It makes it more and more often...

And it's about 5 days now, that the phone disconnect itself from the Wi-Fi and when i go on the Wi-Fi menu, it reconnects itself automatically.

AND today, i woke up with 100% battery, after restarting my phone a few minutes later, i had only 15% battery left !!

Don't now what's happening but I am pretty sure it's a manufacturing default... Isn't it ?

Did you had these problems ? And do you have some suggestions to solve them ?

Sorry if my english isn't perfect and if you don't understand everything !

Correct me if I am wrong.. you bought the phone, you connected to wifi and immediately got one or two system software updates, right? And then upgraded from Lollipop 5.0 to Lollipop 5.1 - Correct?

Well, the same behavior that you are describing happened to me, fixed with a Repair.

Download the Sony Companion Software:

From here in English: http://support.sonymobile.com/us/tools/pc-companion/

From here in Spanish: http://support.sonymobile.com/mx/tools/pc-companion/

Install it, connect it and select to repair your device. Before doing that, do a backup. After the repair I bet your device will be smooth and without too many problems.

Hi,

I am just new to Sony mobiles... got my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual EE5533 about 2 weeks ago.

It updated to 5.1.

The thing I do not understand, the wifi is always uploading/downloading all the time takining most of the bandwidth from my ADSL.

I thought at the begiining that my cloud services are syncing to my mobile, but for 2 weeks?!!!

How can I solve this issue?

@limopc Have you checked if auto update for your google play app is enabled? That will take some of your available data plan.

My google play is set to autoupdate over wifi only.

weather there are updates or not I see wifi working all the time... and I mean really ALL the time.

@limopc In your first post, you said you only use wifi. Are you talking about mobile data?

Go into advanced wifi settings (tap the 3 dots in wifi settings) and check if scanning always available is enabled and keep wifi on during sleep is set to always.

Thanks, I found the settings you mentioned on my mobile as you mentioned already.

By the way, I have logeed out of google drive, dropbox and one drive... to be sure it is not syncing anything

If you don't want to sync anymore, go to settings-accounts, tap on 3 dots and untick auto sync data.

But syncing is only for new or changed data....

Doing this I won't get my contacts updated, wont get emails...

Any other solution?

But what exactly is slowing your ADSL? Go to settings-data usage, switch to wifi and see what is using the wifi.

How can you see that if the display is turned off? Also, being connected to internet will make some apps sync some data, you can restrict background data too for some apps and see if something changes.

It seems you guided me closer.

from settings => accounts=> (i disabled google photos backup) but it keeps coming back on!

seems I should disconnect this account from the Album (photo viewer)

will restart first and see

You can also restart and see, or unlink the account and then restart.

I have asked for further info on this as I don't use picasa. Can you see picasa under settings-accounts? Or is it under the google account?

Picasa is not in accounts separately, it is a service from google, same as email, contacts, calendar...

I just switch it of from accounts but it keeps switching on again.

I think I need to delete it from Album, is this right?

You could clear data for album app first, then hide the service from the album app.
