Back screen button not working

I'm using my Z3 compact for a year now then suddenly, the back screen button is not working.

I've tried fixing the firmware through PC companion and Factory data reset but none of them works.

It's still working since the last firmware update. Any solutions or possible reason why it is not working now?

Or should I try to wait first for the next update to see if it can fix that?

This could be hardware related, as it is only the one location. I would suggest contacting Sony Mobile Xperia Support within your region, they should be able to help. Use my signature below for more details.

Also you should try performing a Diagnostics test.

Menu > Settings > All > Diagnostics > Device Tests > Touchscreen.

Hi jake. Thanks for replying. I've tried the diagnostic test and it is working.
The weird part is when I rotated my screen to landscape, the three screen buttons became unresponsive but when I enabled the glove mode, all of those buttons are working (landscape or portrait mode)

Is it advisable to downgrade my firmware just to see if those buttons will work? If yes, can you guide me on how to properly downgrade?

When you perform a reset/software repair on the device, are you restoring any content from a backup? And if you are have you tried using the device before restoring the content?

I have encountered the same problem upon the latest software update, that appear to me the source of the issue rather than hardware

I did test it first before I restore my files and I'm still experiencing that issue.

Yes, still the same. Im only using an app for the back button as temporary solution.
