Xperia Z - shutdowns, loops, etc.

Hi,

My much loved Xperia Z refuses to work!

Suddent shut downs and I can't bring it back without connecting to an external power source. It works when it is on power source, but once I disconnect it usually shuts down (instant death) very shortly if I open up an app/use it.

If not on external power source it also does not boot up - starts to boot but then shuts down randomly during the boot.

Also, a few times it went into infinite boot up loops, when the sony logo is displayed, then the screen goes blank, the the logo is displayed again, etc. etc.

I tried to factory reset including via pc companione, pressing power+volume etc but not helping even after clean installation.

HELP please!!! Thanks

Hi vahea, welcome to the community!

I am sorry to hear of this experience. Have you tried running a software repair on PC Companion? You click on Start under Support Zone > Phone/tablet software update > Repair my phone/tablet > continue to follow the on screen instructions.

Hi Sophia,

Yes of course, tried that and installed the OS from scratch using PC companion, same results.

Right now I can't even turn it on when on power - once I connect the adapter the phone displays the SONY logo, then restarts, then SONY logo again, then restart, etc. etc.

I see, if the software repair hasn't been able to solve the issue then I do advise contacting Sony Xperia Customer Care in your region asap so you can have the phone assessed by a technician.
