what exactly is it? reinstalling latest update, how do we do that? you know phone comes with AVG antivirus installed and because I thought it may be causing lag to scan the files while exploring the phone, I have removed it from phone but nothing changed..

@uliwooly wrote:

@conical

Did you tried the basic, which is reinstalling the latest update, and also were you using an antivirus?

hello everyone

I wanna mention some troubles with double tap feature, whenever I take my z5 out of pocket while this feature is turned on, I see that phone screen is on and some numbers tapped by emergency dialpad, also sometimes I see wifi or bluetooth is on though they were off... Can an update help to prevent selfchanges in pocket?

also I got yesterday a c5 ultra at half price of z5 but surprisingly I realized c5 is much more stable smooth than z5.. Z5 is much more laggy in menus contacts apps etc than c5 which is faster and more lag-free.....What is the reason of this? Why laggy phone two times expensive? Should we wait for an update or android 6 marshmallow to get a ultra fast z5? The most important thing for me is fast transition between screens, I dont care high graphic games, 8K video record, 85mp camera etc but as I said performance of z5 not so well currently.. Why a highend phone cant handle even menu transitions..What do you think, is it gonna get faster with updates or this is all z5 can do? If so, why price is almost at top level?

thanks

That's interesting that the C5 might be smoother, then again, if you had the Z5 for a while you probably had more apps and services, future updates usually smooth things out, fix bugs, etc.

I've experience the same with other Xperias that have double tap, the power button it's quite sensitive, so if something press it on your pocket it will turn on the screen. I understand that you might not experience the same with other phones but the position of the power button might be different. If you think there's something wrong with your phone, you can get it inspected by your Local support

Is there a way to prevent phone from being opened in pocket when double tap is on? should we expect an update? because currently feature is so useless since it is doing changes, trying calls etc itself in pocket..

also why this feature is only opeing and not closing the screen when double tapped? Is this also software related?

Hello,

I also get the emergency composing problem when my Z5 is in my pocket. Disabling the on screen double tap seems a solution, waiting for Sony to have a better solution based on sensors detections.

There's also a small widget integrated in the Z5 called "touch block" (or similar sorry I don't have my Z5 now) which can be manually activated to lock the touch screen.

You can find it pressing the right square menu button which bring the task manager and a bar will display at bottom with some widgets available. If you don't have it enabled, open the bar to select others widgets or download more.

It works as intended, but I can give you few suggestions

whever you have the phone in your pocket, make sure that the screen is facing away from your body

add a pin or pattern lock

@uliwooly
I use pin lock, still sometimes the phone turned on in pocket, that emergency dial pad... U cannot saya "the power button is too sensitive" as a reason, why? U want to say that because the fingerprint scanner is there? So phone like oppo r7 plus should be more sensitive because the fingerprint scanner is on the back, but not! Oppo r7 plus never turned on in my pocket. What i can say is the double tap to wake up is a failure add-on in z5. Even huawei p8, which the latest update bring together the double tap function can behave smoother than z5.

Today i just found another bug, clock widget not updated. Since i cannot attach snapshot here, so i cannot show you a proof.

fail after usage, it s not that functional since tons of step to activate it...also once its opened stays on screen and never goes without closing, if you close then tons of step again so shoot it out...

well, we need 2 things here; first double tap must both open and close the screen in order to save the life of power button, I keep pressing the button whole day and I dont know how long power button can resist to be pressed.. If it dies just before warranty expires, that is terrible, so we need an app to help us avoid using power button.... And secondly so importantly, somehow this phone must not be opened in pocket itself, maybe there can be added an option as not being able to make any change during its in pocket so even if its opened, no change is allowed..

we expect updates containing affective improvements..

@conical wrote:
Ohh maan amazing little app there called as touch block..
