topic Camera running in the background in XPERIA archive

Hi everyone,

I've installed 360 security app on my Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and any time I've checked the processes running in the bacgkround there was camera on the list, taking up memory and battery resources. Why is camera always turned on, and is that part of the Sony firmware setup or it is triggered by some of the apps I've downloaded on my phone? In the camera's settings I've turned off Geotagging but that didn't change anything. I've also tried uninstalling apps that I suspect might be automatically triggering camera, like Viber for example, but still no change. Should I be worried about my privacy, is it possible that having camera turned on all the time might be some kind of a malware activity?

My phone is not rooted and I can't use apps that could restrict permissions on the use of camera for specific applications.

Thank you for the help.

It's not running exactly - It's the quick action camera widget like on the lock screen and swiping the camera icon or been able to press the dedicated camera button

Thank you Thommo. Any way I can disable Camera widget which doesn't include rooting the phone or doing something I don't have an expertise for? I've read on the net about Sony's firmware that cannot be disabled, mostly about What's New app. I get that running in the background every now and then too, cannot be disabled. One other app that is often in my background processes is Photo Editor, also cannot be disabled in App manager, as well as Download music info, even after disabling Music app.
