Home button and basic funcions problem

Dont know how to explain this, but ill try.

My Touch screen is fine. It works on the whole screen, and i've tested it with the built in diagnostics.

But a few days ago, problems started with the home and return button (and the other one too). I started to need to slide my finger from the bottom of the phone into the touchscreen for the button to work. It was not recognizing a regular touch.

Then, when i play games or open my camera or see a picture on full screen, if the game is horizontal, the buttons simply dont respond. I haver to open the superior bar to click on the configs, so i can make my phone go back to the vertical position ( or do anything to put it back to vertical) so i can use the home and return buttons.

Now, on the blocked screen notifications im not able to slide and close them unless i slide one of them down first. Sometimes i cant use the close all buttons either.

I've already tried a factory reset, but i maintained my phone data (photos, contacts, etc). Still didnt work.

I repeat, the touchscreen is working just fine.

If anyone brings any help, i'll be thankful.

Sounds like a software glitch, may you try going to safe mode and test if it still happens there?

Yep, problem persists on Safe Mode.

Hi VictorLyrio,

Welcome to the community.

In this case the best way to proceed would be to backup the device and perform a software repair on the device. This way you can rule out software if it still fails.

Use the instructions below on how to perform the software repair.

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

Problem still persisted after the repair on pc companion too...

This does seem strange, however if the issue continues in the same location it may be hardware. In such a case I would suggest getting the handset checked by a service agent.
