Part one of your issues is normal behaviour except maybe the time delay but that could be down to the amount of messages stored or app you may have running in the background

Part two is the way Xperia devices are setup by default and has been mentioned before as a preferred setting

Part three is also normal as using mobile data will use more power as your device will need more power to maintain a connection and more power will be used if the connection is weak

I am using this phone for more than 16 days now. This phone has following three main issues -
1. SMS - If you try to delete any SMS directly, it will take a minute. If you open the SMS and then delete, it deletes the message but won't go to the main screen of SMS.
2. In dual SIM setting you can't set any SIM as default for SMS and calling.
3. Battery backup is not good if you use 3G / 4G.

I thought Sony will release the update but still there is no update after th the release of this phone. So I feel Samsung is far better compare to Sony.

I agree with part 3 but not for 1 and 2.
Part 1 - I never seen any kind of such delay in other phones. Moreover Xperia M5 has 3 GB RAM.
Part 2 - In other Xperia devices, I noticed that we can set the default SIM setting for calling and SMS.

Part 1 - one more thing about it that if you open the SMS and then delete, it deletes the message but won't go to the main screen of SMS. It seems this is a bug in this model.

Then all my devices have the same bug of not returning to the main message screen

I spoke with the support. They asked me to check in safe mode. I did that but still having the same issue. So they said in the next release this may be taken care.
