Hi, so my phone (sony xperia z2) turned off randomly after putting it down after use and unlocking it, charge was about 70% at this time. It would not turn on thereafter. Tired to charge but wouldn't. Sony startup logo continues to flash on and off with red notification light. When phone was put in a certain postion turned on saying updating aplications. After a mintue or two of being on phone with a lower battery level turned off again now no luck. Whenever I charge now does nothing just sony logo turning on and off. I have tried all resets the volume up and power onr and red button by sim card but nothing. Don't know what to do now. As I believe it is to do with the battery but this is unaccessible due to the back being non removable. Was going to send to Sony but I read if it is battery problem this must be removed or if the battery is built on must be returned to place of purchase which is online and have had the phone for a year and a month so can't return. I also don't want them to charge saying it is my fault and not covered on warranty as back is cracked suprisingly not from one drop but from pushing down on it after noticing mark, this occured 6 months into phone and no problems 7 months after until this so I know it is not the cause of this fault.

Thankyou.

Hi, just checking to see if you got your phone fixed. My z2 is currently doing the same thing. I've tried several different chargers as well as the original usb and magnetic charger but the Sony logo just keeps flashing on and off and the led blinks red 3times. The phone had previously died and I didn't get to charge it until an hour later. Please help

It's really annoying and it seems this issue is not rare. Still no response from Sony but will let you know what they say when I get it. Hopefully they repair under warranty and don't try and make me pay anymore from a problem that is not my fault, as it seems to me this problem is not fixable without being repaired.

Received first response from Sony: ''Unfortunately, the repair of your device has been delayed. We are doing everything we can to complete the repair of your device and send it back to you as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.'' I don't know whether this is promising news or not.

It's good news, much better than "Your device can't be repaired"
For all others that can recognize Z2 thru PC follow Uliwooly advice. Hold power and volume UP button till 3 vibes and connect with added usb cable to PC (, Repair with "ERASE all" option checked and follow on PC-screen guide.

So received an email from Sony saying repair is not accepted under warranty. A quotation of around £105 was given. £69 for repair cost, £12 for delivery and £24 for handling cost. It's not on really, considering the fault has nothing to do with me but it has to be paid so I can get my phone back. It's either not pay for repair but pay £20 to get phone back then get it repaired somewhere else or get it recyled for free so have to pay for repair.

3 and half weeks and £100 later my phone is back to me in working order :smileysmileythumbsup:. I hope everyone with this problem have managed to get it fixed too. As a last resort if everything you have tried has failed, then best thing to do is send it off for repair. Hopefully you will be covered by warranty, I only wasn't as my back needed replacing even though I wasn't the cause but it can't be proved. Other than the payment I had to made, I feel the reapir process was not as bad as some reviews state. Getting it repaired is my only solution to this problem
