Bluetooth headset battery level

Hi everyone,

I bought bluetooth headset LG HBS-500 and connect it to my Sony Z2 smartphone with Lollipop 5.1.1. Works great, but when one of my friends paired my headset with his iPhone, it showed a headset's battery level meter in statusbar next to the bluetooth symbol when headset is connected. He told me that it works with almost all modern headsets from 2011 or around.

I search the Internet and found that Android also can show headset's battery level, even on KitKat. Reported devices are Lenovo k3 note, Lenovo k910 vibe z, LG G3s, Samsung SGS2.

Why we haven't the same thing on Sony Xperia Z series?

I thought that battery level reporting is a part of the bluetooth standard specification.

There is no labels on package or reference in user's manual that headset is Apple iOS compatible. It just works.
