I got the same problem with my white Z5C. The only way to get the sensitive touch responds again is to remove the glass screen protector.. or put the phone in charge. If the screen is responding when the cable is plugged in, it's obviously software related I guess. For now, I removed the screen protector, sad.

Is anyone else experiencing a issue when the phone is on a table or similar flat surface and the phone screen is not responding when using your fingers?

I do have a front and rear glass screen protector and a plastic clip on rear protective cover, so I am guessing, these are to blame, if so, why?

Thanks

That's remarkable, I have just tried that and it works fine on a flat surface when being charged.

That's really just stupid!!!

I need to keep all my screen protectors and covers on, so I'll just have to live with this issue, albeit a real pain when I only have one hand free when the phone is on a table!!!

Thanks

I feel you. Just to know, is your phone white? I would like to know if it's related with the previous screens issues concerning white versions of the phone.

Yes, it is white and before the last update it was almost useless to use.

It has settled down a LOT, but still has a few niggles, such as not completely smooth when scrolling and the camera freezes a few times....and of course the issue we both have discussed !!!

I am persistant and I will ride it out and hopefully there will be another update, however, I may think twice about getting another Sony !!
