Hi azzido,

This seems like a driver issue, when you plugged the Z5 in to the PC did it install drivers the first time round?

You could try a quick uninstall and reinstall of PC Companion, or you may need to delete the drivers for the device within the Device manager and then reinstall them through removal and reattachment.

Hi, Ihave the same problem. I've uninstalled PC Companion and reinstalled, I've also uninstalled the Z5 from my device manager. As soon as I connect the Z5 to my PC, it comes up as a Z3. Any further help you can give?

Yes it did install the driver.
Moreover, I remember that switching between Z2 and Z3 was not resulting with this issue...

Look for a PC Companion update that will solve the issue. This happens often when the newest device is initially launched.

It's probably a temporary glitch, it won't affect the update, selecting the phone is only to find the steps on to how to prepare your phone for the update but nothing else.
