Z4 tablet battery

Hi,

My new xperia z4 battery life seems decreased quiet significantly and the screen usage is 85% is this normal? have a look at attached picture. That's only from non heavy use really. Watched a few YouTube videos. You got any tips. I also got xperia z2 tablet but it's at Sony for repairing the on button, but there the battery seemed better. Many thanks

Well, as the screen is quite big on these devices it uses a lot of power, specially when you have a high brightness. One of the best ways to save battery is to decrease brightness when you're not outdoors or in very bright environments.

Well only for about 90 minutes. I also decreased the brightness now Ashwell and tweaked the settings. It was really good when I bought it but after a few charges it seemed to consume the battery much faster. It's now 67%, so 8% in 30 minutes. I think something is not right here.

There's probably more apps draining the battery

settings > power management > battery > take screenshots of the list and also the graph and post them here

There you go. It's a bit strange as acouple of them appeared which weren't there before like Skype and Android System.

If the tablet is new,the battery life should improve after several charges. And on a smartphone,the screen is one of the biggest battery eaters.

As I posted elsewhere, a new Android device (or one that has just had a system update) seems to go through a spell of rapid battery depletion for a number of days. Initially I had difficulty getting my Z4 tablet to reach 100% charge, but after a week it settled down

Yes that's what I thought. Tablet had about 7-10 charges and new. Another thing is that the battery shows as charged from 0% to 100% in about 2 hours 40 minutes. I mean it seems like the tablet will have run out on juice in about 6h and its normal use. I never head this in my previous z2 tablet.

After adjusted brightness the screen usage is about 50% however there are still the battery issues. Not even 5 h med to high usage. Will it qualify for warranty repair/checkup?

Hmm after the same usage on z2 tablet the battery goes down significantly slower. On z4 tablet 30-40% faster. Brightness levels are more high on z2 aswell.

I have stamina mode off and am using my tablet throughout the day, but admittedly not running videos all the time or games. I'm getting well over 1 day from a full charge, and it is better than the battery life in my old Z Tablet. What apps are you running on your tablet?

Hi,

sorry i wasnt here for a while. After speaking to support via Chat they advised me to repair my software through PC Companion - which i did. Now i have done this a few days ago and charged tablet about 3 times now - and unfortunatelly i only get still about 6h of usage. It's kind off a mixture from MX Player, All Player, 8 Ball Pool Miniclip, uTorrent and a bit of browsing. Same usage and the same apps had been tested on my old Xperia Z2 Tablet and i get just over 8 hours of usage. Could anybody comment on this. I still will do a bit of testing before i speak to support chat again. When i bought this Tablet the usage i got was far better over 10 hours.

Heh I just been on the Sony support chat but they totally ignored me, therefore I will be sending this off to the carrier directly...
