No, it should not be enabled also make sure that developer is not enabled.

What you could do, is to go to Settings > Apps > The tab "All" > Find the apps that crashes > Force stop/clear cache. You could also clear data for the applications but note, this will restore the application to standard. For example, if you have a game and clear data for the app, you need to start over. (If you clear data for Album, no photos will be removed) So begin with force stop/clear cache.

Since I upgraded to android 5.1.1 most apps that I frequently use don't open anymore or are crashing once I open them! plus I can't view Any of my photos in the album as I am greeted with just a black screen.. Would prefer not to plug the phone into a computer as I don't have the one at the moment so was wondering if there will be another software update soon to correct this bug??

Hi,

Could you please check so that you don't have the developer option "Use AwsomePlayer" enabled? You can find this under Settings > Developer options. If you don't see "Developer options", first go to Settings > About phone and tap the build number 7 times. Then you should see it.

Hi thanks for the reply. I have checked the developer options and the "use awesomeplayer" is not enabled. Should it stay that way?

OK so everything seems to be back to normal & fully functional however I've just noticed that on the lock screen it says I have "no service" when I actually do, is there a remedy for this?

P.s. Thanks for the help in the previous answer!

That sounds strange, have you tried to remove and insert your SIM-card again to see if same behaviour persist? Or do you have the possibility to try another SIM-card?
