Sms convert into mms

I'm using Sony Xperia z3
After 160 characters my sms automatically converts into mms
I have been using Samsung for years and never faced this problem
It's my first experience with Sony and facing this problem don't know how to fix this problem
Kindly help

Hi 2253645a,

Welcome to the community,

This does seem strange, as in most cases this would only occur when getting to the 3 or 4 SMS. However this may be a limitation of your network carrier, or it may be a limitation on a specific network mode, try changing the mode.

Menu > settings > More > Mobile Networks > Network mode > try WCDMA only or LTE preferred.

I'm able to replicate this, you can use a third party app such as google messenger.

Just realised this thread is in the Z Ultra forum; mine is a Z1 Compact.
