The flashlight turns on itself and there's no way to turn it off, only reseting the phone, because I am not able to open apps that uses it, like camera or flashlight native app.

I don´t think that should be considered normal to have to restart your phone to turn the flashlight off, specially in a top model of a brand like sony. I don't have apps with access to the flashlight but the natives.

Hi,

same problem with my Z3C...

Every now and then (let's say once in a month) i find the flashlight on with out any reason. Flashlight app says: flashlight not available! Didn't try the camera app at that moment yet.

Happened first time after upgrading to 5.0.2 and last time today, meanwhile under 5.1.1.

Sony Support said something about an error occured while updating to 5.0.2 and i should re-install the OS. I assume that the update to 5.1.1 should have had the same effect....

Frank

PS. Rebooted in safe-mode now, i can run it for a while but without the apps the phone is not half as useful as it's meant to be...

Hi I have the same problem with my z5. The flashlight randomly comes on..sometimes in my pocket and I can only tell cause my dacks feel like they're on fire.

When it happens, I cant log into the camera app as it gives an error message like "Camera not available". Tried using a third party flashlight app but while the app loads, it cant turn the light off. I have to press Restart.

Any ideas where to go from here? It doesnt happen all that often..maybe 3-4x in the last week.

If the error shows "you can not run the application or flashlight" it is surely because another application is using the process that controls the flashlight. For example; if you have turned on the flashlight and try to then use the camera is likely to show that error or vice versa.

If the error persists we recommend you return the device to factory mode, considering that the information will be deleted. If the problem persists would be good to consult Sony warranty.
