Xperia z3c issues - my apps keep refreshing when open

Any idea why my phone may be doing this? I open up any app (snapchat, instagram, browser, even album) and it constantly refreshes and takes me to the top of the page or the app home page. How can I fix this?

After getting the 5.1.1 OTA the other day, I was getting some serious jankiness in most apps, and even in the base OS UI. For example, web pages in Chrome would jump around without even touching the screen. It was to the point where using the phone was getting really frustrating.

I was surprised not to find anyone else posting about a similar issue, but to most of the other issues, the recommendation from Sony has been "software repair" through PC Companion. I just wanted to say that running a software repair on my Z3C completely fixed my problem.

Do you have any antivirus or taskillers? could you explain the issue a bit more?

Have you tried any basic troubleshooting such as restarting the handset and removing SIM and SD card and putting them back in and starting the handset up?

I've tried all of that, still no change. What else could i try? Should I try factory data reset?

Try boot to safemode first and see if any of the inbuilt apps are still playing up and let us know.

EBay app is a easily demonstrable culprit but happens in everything. Long texts are also a nightmare to type as the Google swipe keyboard refreshes mid word

Its every app. Including native ones like sms. However after a day since upgrade and a couple of reboots inc one into safe mode then back to normal, it seems okay. Touch wood

I'm in safe mode at the moment and my inbuilt apps are still refreshing. I'll try rebooting a few more times, hopefully I'm as lucky as @samtgod

Hi violachristina,

Have you attempted a software repair on the device?

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

I am having the same issue and it is a real problem. For example, I can't read long emails as part way through it refreshes and goes back to the top.

This is making my phone unusable in certain situations. I am really hoping a solution is found to this.

Actually, my pronouncement was premature... although the repair does seem to have improved the battery life quite a bit, so still reccomended!

It seems like the issue crops up most often, or maybe exclusively, while I'm walking. I've turned off auto-rotate, but it'll take some time before I can be sure that's the culprit.
