As the phone is less that 6 months then Sony have to prove you damaged the phone via improper use which isn't hard to do as to bend a phone requires force just like the iphone when owners complained until it was proved that they sat on it etc - I do wish you luck but as a consumer law adviser I can only say that structural tests will be carried out and if these are within tolerances then this would indicate improper use - Should Sony find against you then you need to ask for a deadlock letter then seek out an approved engineer for an independent engineers report which will be required in a county court for a small claims hearing

I purchsed xperia z3+ on friday aftrnoon after switching from iphone, within 6hrs the phone was bent from the power button and the screen cracked only 1 call made from the phone, it was in my front pocket of loose fitting shorts,in my other shorts pocket was my work pone a nokia lumia nothing wrong with that. the phone has not had eccesive force or been dropped no improper use, the vendor refused to do anything except tell me to return it to sony for a warrenty repair, the phone was collected today by a courier arranged by sony. Is there a design flaw with this phone? I DO NOT BELIEVE IT TO BE FIT FOR USE if it bends like this. I have had smart phones for years and never experienced anything like this.

Fingers crossed sony can sort this as i like the sony brand and have just purchased a 4k tv and sound box.

Bending a phone is something that happens only when you intentionally bend it or when you accidentally do so, eg. by sitting on it or by crouching while having the phone in your front pocket.

I had mobile phones / smart phones since ~1996 and I NEVER got any of these phones bent.

First of all why would you deliberatly bend a phoneadness secondly ive also had smart phones for years and never had a bent or cracked screen in my pocket, I look after my devices , when you spend so much on a phone you expect some sort of durability.

Hi

As per my original post sony experia care have the bent phone.

I apppreciate that phones now are larger and thinner, however this does not explain how a phone will bend with no abnormal use, deing dropped or sat upon as previous messages have suggested.

According to the "sale of goods act 1979 as ammended" I quote "goods mest be As described, Of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose". Fit for purpose means Both their everyday purpose and any specific purpose.
