Missing letter S

I use the phonepad keyboard, I just prefer it. When I am typing normally all the letters for that button appear across the top so you can select the letter you want to use. However the letter s has been replaces with 's, when I hit the button for pqrs7 the options are P 7 R 's Q so no letter S just 's

I had a similar issue when I got my last phone, an Xperia SP, and found a fix on this forum but have been searching and can't seem to find it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

That's strange, I have not heard about this before. Does this problem persist when you restart the phone as well?

Yes. I normally switch off every night and problem has been for a few days now. I've looked at the keyboard settings and word save settings but no luck so far.

I can, but I'm not sure how to! When I try to screen shot using the volume/power buttons it tries to change the font size. If I select screen shot button using the bottome right button, the keyboard showing the problem disappears and it just screenshots the text message without the keyboard. Any suggestions?

As I don't know which software version you're using; could you try the on/off button -> take screenshot?

And if you push the button for pqrs you don't get the letter s? Very strange. You could try to clear data for the Xperia Keyboard app under Settings > Apps.

I cleared the data and it reset to a chinese keyboard!

Changed back to international and still getting the same problem!

I tried clearing again and this time didn't allow it to learn words from my texts etc and this seems to have worked. I now have S and 's.

I don't know why learning from my words would mean loosing letters from the alphabet?

Hopefully that's sorted it though.

Just an update, this happened again. This time the letter 'l' disappeared! Cleared the data and restarted phone then updated all my settings again and seems to be back to normal. Still no idea why letters would randomly disappear!

Getting VERY frustrated with this as now the 'S' is missing AGAIN!

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there some sort of glitch/bug??
