Hi all,
I'm just wondering if this is a problem unique to my device or others have had a similar problem. After I got the phone I literally took my memory card from the old phone and put it into this one. All the pics on the card were ok but the issue seemed to be my music and apps. The phone rejected the card with constant errors and reboots. I then formatted the card whilst in the phone and reloaded it with music. The card couldn't be read but it's no longer throwing up errors. I am wondering if I need to load the music onto the phone then transfer to memory card or do I need a specific brand of memory card. It's only a 64gig and the card works on all other phones. The only difference I've noted is the z5 is running Android 5.1.1 whilst the other devices have been running 5.1 or 5.0. Could this then mean it's down to the android version on the z5? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try formatting the SD card again, and use Media Go program on your PC to transfer music.

Quester - cheers will do. Just wondering if the speed of the card makes any difference. I'm using a class 10 SanDisk ultra? I'll give it a whirl nd report how that goes.

Hi all,

I have discovered that the phone will not read/write a class 10 sd card. What I've had to do is downgrade, 32gb class 4, and this works well. I've also taken into account solution offered by Quester - thanks and loaded media using media go software.

Not true, I have a class 10 working fine in my premium,
If your own handset will not use class 10 then try other class 10 cards to make sure, if they also fail, return to retailer for a replacement.
Where was your original class 10 purchased?

In fact, mine is also a SanDisk ultra.
Are you 100% confidant it's not a fake (SanDisk being the number 1 faked brand)

To the best of my knowledge the card is genuine. Got it off the SanDisk site. It's not a new card. I've used it on other devices without probs. So I'm quite certain the card is not compromised. Strangely when i inserted the class 4 32gb it registered immediately. What version of Android are you currently running Viridis ?

I even use a Class 10 card with my older Z3, I'm sure it's supported in your Z5P. It's also mentioned in official Z5P White Paper:

"This device meets the minimum hardware requirements to support Class 10 / UHS Speed Class 1 Flash memory. Flash memory performance is dependent on the application and task being performed on the device. If you would like to know about your memory card, refer to the technical specifications that came with the card."

Is an application issue then ? I've tried using the music player on board -no joy. Third party music player was just a dud so I down graded and now the card is suddenly supported. The 32gb is a Kingston branded card.

Test your microSD using an app called h2test and see if it really delivers what it promises.

I'm on 5.1.1, z5 premium.
Trust me, class 10 is supported on z5.
On my card I have 4k videos, camera pictures, hi res audio tracks, mp3 tracks etc etc....
No issue with card.
Personally I'd perform a factory reset of the phone and see if it fixes it.
