No sound comes out of the internal speakers no matter what app I'm using. But I can use speakers, headphones etc. I can make phone calls and I can hear the person at the other end but cannot hear it ringing. So I don't think there's a problem with the hardware I think it is a software issue since I CAN hear the other end of phone calls. Also my front camera has also decided not to work at all. I am running kit kat 4.4.4.
