Random Sony Xperia Apps Crash

Hello All!

After buying a Style Cover SCR26... I get daily between 30 and 50 messages like this one:

Unfortunately, the process com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware.extension.onlineProcess has stopped.

Apparently not a big deal because everything works correctly except that from time to time while I type or browse that annoying windows show up on screen and I have to close it, wait that the dialog fade and so on...

... so, do you see the question coming?

How do I fix this?

Do you have stamina mode on?

any of the following apps?

battery apps
booster apps
third party home launchers
ram boosters

@uliwooly thank you but I am a purist and to say it in a decent way I will never install the mentioned "crap" as those make things worse.

Phone is stock, I use basic apps, no games, no jokes, just banking apps, Google Apps, Facebook, Spotify,PayPal, Navigation Apps and that's it.

I captured a crash log and sent to my email address. Tomorrow I'll check it to see exactly what provoke the crash.

Any idea why it started after installing the SCR26?

Furthermore, no stamina is off...

... And I checked the log from the phone, seems that the app crash because it's not able to get data from Facebook. I disabled the Xperia Facebook settings to see if are related to the issue. If that works, then the issue is with the SCR26 app and the Xperia Facebook extension.

I think that somehow the Facebook api are limiting multiple access to it as there is an extension for the swr10, one for the Smartwatch 2, one for the Xperia Facebook account and one for the SCR26!!

That can be one of the reasons... Probably Sony will like to centralize all the extensions to work with just one call rather than multiple extensions calling the api.

But I am speculating... Once I'll test the phone with the disabled Xperia Facebook extension and once I sure that the issue is related... Then I'll inform Sony about the issue.

In the meantime, are my rants plausible?

I have the same problem on xperia Z2 (D6503) since a couple of days. It's driving me crazy

So, yeah the issue is gone. Just disabling the Xperia Facebook fixed the issue. At least today I haven't got any crash message. Tomorrow I'll confirm after 24 more hours of testing.

In the morning I activated back the "Xperia with Facebook" from Settings -> Accounts and the extension started to crash immediately.

Disabled it and no crash at all.

Thoughts?

I can't say for sure but i suspect this may be related to API changes made by Facebook.

We are currently in the process of phasing out Xperia with Facebook due to API changes made by Facebook. As i understand it, some of these changes just went into effect so this may be the cause of this issue.

Which firmware version do you have in your phone? What happens if you uninstall https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware.extension.facebook from your phone but leave the Xperia with Facebook account?

Uhm, I tried that, it keep crashing. It was one of my initial experiments.

However, if I have to be brutally honest.. by disabling the Xperia with Facebook account my life is the same (I don't really see the importance of thatit's useful just if you want to sync contacts). All is good and nothing is crashing. So if you guys are going to phase it out you have my approval as it's just provoking issues and honestly... I prefer maintaining my contacts up to date with Google rather than with Facebook.

In my case it did start after a update for style covers. I did send a mail to the maker of the app, but have not yet, 3 weeks, receive an answer. I did unstall the cover and installed another colour that had not yet been updated, in my case that worked fine. But it had been nice to use the app and colour I want,without crashes.

I was thinking that i was the only one, but no, i have the SmartWatch 2 with Xperia Z2, and i am receiving these same error as YoGem, and i think it have begin after an update from Facebook, so it have some sence for what i have read here, i use too the Smart Wireless Headset Pro (That is a shame that is not updated), at the first glance i was thinking that was because of the wireless headset program that is not updated since 2014 but no, already try to uninstall and no diference at all,

Is there any news that these problem will be fixed?

Xperia Z Ultra: same error message since update to Lollipop. I disabled Xperia Facebook, but no improvement. Disconnected smartwatch 2 and messages disappeared. It seems I can't use my Sony smartwatch with my Sony phone anymore without having these error messages... Thanks Sony.

I have the Sony Smartwatch 2 and the HTC One M8, and have been getting the message for about two weeks. I just started researching the problem. I like my watch more than I like Facebook, so I will uninstall that until there is a fix. If Sony does not fix the problem, I will not be buying another Sony Watch.
