Hi,

My P1i was a little glitchy so I used the update service function. My mobile no longer turns on and doesn't work anymore- any help is appreciated!!

Tried it- it jst tells me there's nothing to update and asks me to exit. The phone won't turn back on. Keypad lights up, but screen stays black...

Usually there should be an option for reinstalling the newest firmware when experiencing problem.

Doen't appear this for you? o_O

How do you upate your phone? With the SEUS programm or any other?

then there should be the "reinstall firmware" option when no new firmware was found.

What works to is using the PC-Suite -> Extras -> Phone repair

this reinstalls the current firmware, too.

I used the Sony Ericsson Update Service via the PC Suite, but it's fried my mobile 😞

hi!

I got the exactly problem whit my P1i, i made the normal and same process to reinstal firmware. Now i try to do the "phone repair" whit the PC suite 6, and i can't make the "phone repair update" download. Make download to 55% than appears this window!

I need help!!! PLEASEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It happened with me also. The Sony ericsson support people said at the service center that the motherboard of the phone is fried. But I want to ask who is responsible for that. We just used the update service.. That is what SONY is all about... Please tell me if there is any method to recover my phone`s software because it crashed this time and I`m not very happy with it. Thank you in advance for your support.

Currently dealing with the same issue for the last 3 days after perfect operation for years. I didn't use the update service when it happened and I didn't have the pc suite running. I put it in the cradle to charge overnight, it froze, then the flashing keyboard and that's the last time it started.

Tried the update service to restore it but it never finishes. Fails every time.

When I do try to start it up while holding the 7 key, I get a flash of a blue screen and then back to the dark screen and flashing keyboard.

I do know that the computer recognizes the phone even though it looks like it's off but the suite does not.

If anyone gets their phone back on, please share!

Hi,

I have the same issue. I was using my phone last night and it just hung. So i turned it off and when I tried turning it on again, it doesnt. The keypad keeps flashing and the screen remains blank. Can someone pls let me know what the problem is and how it can be fixed??

whats with P1i's? 😞 same happened to me last june, i charged my phone overnight and come morning, its screen is blinking/flashing already. it was like that for a week or two. then suddenly it came back to its normal behavior - no more blinking/flashing. but after another week, it's blinking/flashing again. from then on, it never got back to normal ever so i went to the service center. they said they had my phone re-programed but still it did not resolved the problem. and they just said that it's already a board problem and it cant be fixed and all i can do is buy a new unit. 😞 i can still open my phone, its still blinking/flashing but unlike before, even if its blinking, i can still see images/icons on screen, i can still navigate..now, when the phone turned to inactive state/mode, after i touch the screen again to make it active or to unlock it, all i could see i white screen. no icons etc.. 😞 anyone knows whats wrong here? is this just LCD problem? help please...

Please get the software reloaded on your handset that is the only solution of all the problems listed here or use XS++ 3.1 to update the firmware but dont forget to keep a backup..
