Xperia Z3 Compact Taking Down Internet

I just bought a XZ3C (Wi-Fi only, no phone) a week ago. When I turn it on, everything runs fine at first, but then I lose internet in my whole house within minutes. I can run my whole network--two desktops on Ethernet, a Wi-Fi laptop, and Sonos Wi-Fi music system with no problems; but shortly after I turn on the XZ3C, it all drops. Same is true if only one other device is on (e.g. one desktop and Xperia; or just the laptop and Xperia--it all drops). The only way I can stay connected for more than a few minutes is if the XZ3C is the only thing I have on the network.

I have a somewhat older D-Link DIR-625 router (about 10 yrs old) and a DSL modem. I've reset them both countless times. It's getting very frustrating.

P.S. When I turn the XZ3C off, the connection comes back to all my other devices....
