broken screen

I purchased a Z1 compact xperia phone from the Kenya authourized dealers (Anisuma Traders) not even two months ago. The screen got broken after putting it in my pocket next to some keys. I am absolutely amazed by how weak this phone is having used Sony Ericcson / Sony phones for the last 10 years. I am an adventure sports guide and haven't had a single problem in all this time.

Apparently this isn't covered in the warrenty which is surprising as I think this is a warrenty type issue. Your phone shouldn't break from simply being in your pocket! The crack is top right on the first picture. I have been quoted $150 - $250 for a new screen.

What is surprising is that if the screen does go on these phones, everything is linked and the phone ceases to work. I have seen I-Phones run over by cars with completely smashed screens that still work.

What should I do?

That's great... except Kenya is not listed in the drop down menu.
