smart key app not working

i installed this for mdr-10r headset.

the app shows up when the headset is plugged in, however the button assignments are not working. i saw it last updated on July 23, 2014. any feedback/comments?

I remember one of the staff members say it might not see any updates for 5.0.

realllly?? that is bizarre. it is advertised across sony headsets. and supporting this is a complimentary of sony products.
