Unlocking a sgp 621 tablet

Just took delivery of my new age 621 tablet, can somebody pleasantly me how to find out if it is unlocked as I don't have the correct sim yet

Is there a way I can personally unlock it Myself?

Go to contacts and dial *#*#7374423#*#*-Service info-SIM lock.

Yeah,thanks for covering me Thommo. My mind went a little strange because I thought it was a wifi only tablet.

Blimy haven't brought any Sony products for a little while, don't laugh last one was a Sony personal sterio, that's what it was called then (cassette player if anybody can remember those.

Wonders this tablet is amazing, anyway had a little look and found this

Sim lock

(X) network 5

Does that mean 5 networks available ie Unlocked?

As far as I know,the tablet is locked and you have 5 unlock tries.

Also wondering if Sony will honour the warranty I brought this New from eBay no recept.

Sorry,this is something we aren't aware of. But usually you'll have to claim warranty from your seller.

@alexdon is right the [X] means locked and the 5 means the amount of tries you have to unlock the device, Also if the seller isn't an authorised reseller then you will have to take up warranty issues with them unless they have the origonal receipt and are willing to hand it over

My second hand Z4 Tablet was locked to the UK network O2 and their online unlock request form requires me to have an O2 SIM and account. Which I don't have so I decided to give this service a try

They offer a specific O2 service for €20.00 (£16.10).

The NCK code came through in 36 hours and works perfectly. An EE SIM card is immediately recognised and the Service Info SIM Lock confirms unlocked.

My queries were promptly responded to.

The only slight disappointment, and which is not to do with sim-unlock service, is that the default O2 voicemail code can't be edited.The reason for my expectation is that my Z3 Tablet Compact was also an O2 item but was unlocked before I bought it and there is no such issue with the voicemail code. Luck of the draw I suppose. But this is a very minor matter. The big deal is having an unlocked LTE tablet.

Possibly, as and when the Z4 Tablet can be rooted, this can be dealt with in due course.
