z3 dead :(

hello all. i have a problem with my z3. only had the phone a month

phone froze while trying to take a picture so i a performed software reset (holding down up volume + power)

now the phone stays on the sony logo and will not start up. tried software reset again no joy

tried to repair using pc companion. follow the on screen directions - select repair then phone model then reboot phone using up volume and power on then hold volume down while connecting to usb. led on phone goes green but will not connect to the pc so companion will not start the repair procedure.

i have tried the same procedure on 4 different laptops incase it is a software / hardware issue with the pc.

still no joy. im thinking sending it in is the only option now. unless anybody has any other suggestions??

You could connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let the phone charge for 2 to 3 hours > remove both SIM and SD cards > try again with PCC

if that doesn't work try a different computer and/or cables

hello thanks for your quick response. i have tried a different cable. and already removed sim and sd cards ,i will try charging the phone for some time to see if it helps. the phone is stuck displaying the illuminated sony screen while charging. no way to turn it off. after resetting it with the volume up and power button it just lights up again

That's quite odd, what if you press the button under the SIM card cover?

hi again. if i press and hold the yellow button inside the sim cover while the phone is charging the phone vibrates three times. screen goes black then lights up again with sony logo and stays lit up indeffinitely again..
