I've had a quick flick through the forums here and there doesnt seem to be any answers forthcoming.

Why is it that my wifi on my phone will connect to my local wifi, then maybe a couple of minutes later it disconnects

Reading some of the articles I thought it might be stamina mode, which would make sense so I turned that off and it still does it

The Wifi is not the issue, because I can put my ipad and my phone side my side and the ipad will stay connected and my phone doesnt

This can be related to a number of factors, one thing to point out is that, even though other devices work on that current setup, this does not mean that it is not the router.

A few things to go through are located within this link Wifi issues

Also make sure any Task killers, Anti virus and battery performance apps are removed, as they can cut communication with services such as Wifi.

Hi Jake

So thanks for the link on basic wifi trouble shooting steps. I have followed these and the issue is with the handset or sofftware. I am using a corportae wifi network here. Are you telling me 20,000 users connected are all wrong and sony is right?

It ALSO doesnt work on my home network

The only power saving apps are they ones that are build into your android release. I have turned the Stamina mode off

The wi-fi optomisation checkbox is ticked

HI grumbley,

Sorry to hear that the troubleshooting did not help, unfortunately there was no mention of you using this device on multiple Wifi networks only at a localized location nor any mention of a coporate connection, for that I apologize.

If the issue happens on multiple connections this may be software or worst case hardware.

I suggest attempting a backup and then a performing a software repair on the device.

Backup and Restore instructions

1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from PC Companion
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps
