headset not compatible

So I have used my phone with some old razer headset, without any problems. Now I bought hyperx cloud 2, they are great, but when I plug it into my phone, they do not register. At all. If I, however, plug in the attacheable mic, they work fine.. if the mic is plugged out, then it won't display that I got a headphone attached to my phone. I have been searching around and tried to setup my phone with all 5-6 different headphones you can select in the phone menu and none of them works, I have just run an update/repair through sony companion partner and did nothing.

So anyone else know of this problem with their phone? Normal headphones/those which came with the mobile, they work.

I would love if someone out there had an answer..

They are, but I can't set up usb to my phone. They have jackstick 3.5mm.

As others on sony forum, it worked with the app soundabout, but then it would kill the soundfeed from the speakers when I directed the sound to the headset.

I am really regreting buying this phone... glass back that can break and now this? I just wanna plug in some headset, get sound and that is that.

Seems like sony cannot handle these issues and I do not wanna turn in my device to the company I bought from, cause would then have no phone for 2-3 weeks.

Do they work while on safe mode?

I understand your frustration but you can't blame a phone manufacturer about headphones not been compatible. Just to double check, are any other pair of headphones working?

well since they do work on my pc and 2 other mobiles , it is to assume it is the mobile that makes the error. Since also, others have had the same problem with xperia z3 compact.

I have tried with an old headphone sennheiser and razer kraken pro. Also the standard in ear headphones that follows with the mobile.

Also, if I plug in the mic to the headset, they work. But it should not be like that. They should work, mic in or not. If I forced sound to my headset through the app soundabout, it worked, but then I would not have sound out of my speakers, when I took out the headset.

And tried safe mode, still the same problem persist. Also updated/repaired and all that.

I still think it's a compatibility issue, it'll be wise to contact Sony directly
