i thought i might be doing something wrong but:

i have the official flip case so pressing both volume buttons and the screen at the same time accidentally while in my pocket is not easy to do.

but anyway something else happens to me twice that shows to be a software bug. when i pressed the power button to wake up the screen i noticed the STAR Icons (showing the priotrity mode to be enabled) to come and go 2-3 times within 1-2 seconds until it was finally gone and as i said i noticed this to happen at 2 random times.

since i updated my Z2 to Lollipop i keep finding my phone set to Priority Mode. i do not know why this happens but i am sure i do not set it accidentally. i also confirmed that i do not have priority mode scheduled for specific day/time. it also occures at random time of the day so schedule is not a possibility.

did anyone face the same probem?

Have you been hitting the volume button and then maybe touching the different mode at the top after pressing the volume button?

Not sure if this is the cause or will help but in Settings then Sound and notifications there is an option for interruptions and you can turn on Priority

Like i said i wasn't sure if it would help - I thought that setting would turn priority on when in sleep mode but obviously not - Try an App preferences reset - Settings then Apps then tap the 3 dots then Reset app preferences and reboot and test

I set the alarm and when i exit the screen the priority mode is set

No reasonable explanation

I'm having the same problems on my z1 phone since upgrading to android 5. priority interruptions just auto turns on randomly through the day as seen by the star in the status bar. I never had any interruptions scheduled ever but still went in and made sure all options were off. I've followed your suggestions as well, including app resets and turning the phone off. Is it an android 5 problem as I never had it before upgrading?
Thx

I too am having problems with the Priority interruptions mode. At least on three occasions this week I've wondered why my phone hasn't rang (it's my work phone as well as personal) and when I check the sound mode it's switched itself on to priority by itself. It drives me mad, I know I'm not doing it myself as I have a smart case and its sat on my car seat left alone... It's also started not allowing me to END a call. The big red End Call button literally doesn't work at random. I have to do a soft reset to hang up, and when I test the touch pad in settings it reports no problems. I'm starting to hate this device...

Me too. Exactly the same problem. Phone insists on being set to Priority. I know I'm not switching by accident as my phone is in a very sturdy gel case which makes the volume button very difficult to push. Am constantly missing calls, is driving me nuts!
