Soft keys doesn't work

Hello,

All of a sudden the soft keys on my Xperia Z stopped working. I have tried to restart, reset (fully, both from phone and from PC companion) and update, but they won't work.

When the keys are not there, for example on the lock screen, I can click and drag the camera icon etc. But as soon as the soft keys overlay is there; no reaction.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Quite annoying having to reboot the phone in order to get back to the home screen

Ok, so the soft keys is a part of the hardware? Because the screen itself reacts when I touch that area when the soft buttons are not displayed. (example; when you go through the first setup and there is arrows that you have to press to go to the next step, or on the lock screen when you have a camera button on the bottom of the screen.) But as soon as the soft buttons are back on the screen it doesn't respond to touch anymore. Only on the black area where the soft keys are displayed. The touch screen works fine for everything else.

In most cases this would be related to software, however performing a software repair should resolve this type of issue as it reloads the software and removes all data.

same problem happen to my xperia too. So, i like to hear a solution from you.last time your phone also having the same problem like mine now. how you solve n getting your phone back to normal. my phone soft key also doesn't work. i try the same thing like u did but still cannot solve this problem..i hope you can help me here. thank you
