Proximity Sensor Issue

I am often on a call and find when I move the phone from my ear while the call is still connected the screen is off until I turn on the power button.

Is this a known bug issue?

Do you have a screen protector or something covering the sensor?

I am using the screen protector that Sony provided with the phone which is different from the ones available online in that there's a cutout where the sensor is, there's also a cutout for the front camera on the right side from it.

So in essence there's nothing covering the proximity sensor even though there's a screen protector on.
