Inbox/Gmail notifications not working

Noticed a little while ago that some emails I was waiting for were sitting in Inbox (the app) all along. I've done some troubleshooting (reboot, clear cache, clear data, bouncing the notification settings in the app, bouncing sync).

In the end I uninstalled inbox and enabled gmail and went through all the above with that but no difference. Test emails, as well as genuine ones are all turning up immediately but I get no notification on the notification bar, led, no sound/vibrate etc.

I've tried in safe mode - same thing. I've turned priority mode on and off too.

Any ideas what I can try next? I did finally get the latest sony update a couple of days ago and I can't be certain this has worked properly since then (Inbox, which I quite like, is set to not notify me for the majority of emails i get.

Perhaps it's somethign related to my account rather than the apps/phone, although I took a quick look and I could't say what that might be.

I heard that removing your Google account, restarting phone, the adding it again might fix this problem.

Thanks, gave that a go, but no dice.

Got home and tried a few other devices which were all fine, so not an account problem. Factory reset fixed it.

Do you have stamina mode on? are the other notifications working?

Factory reset! Whoosh! All gone! All working now. Before the factory reset:

No stamina mode. Facebook messenger, hangouts worked fine. Audio fine. Same problem on both wifi and 4g. Very odd. I'm putting it down to the recent sony update (23.1.a.1.28), as before then it was fine. I did a factory reset after 5.0.2, but not after 23.1.a.1.28, so perhaps it's related to that?

Er, yes. The factory reset fixed it; it's all working now.

Probably an app acting up, glad to hear that it's working now.
