Z3 compact not charging

I am experiencing a strange problem with my phone - when using the wall charger that came with my phone or an adaptor I have that has a higher output, the phone doesn't charge at all. When it's powered off, the phone comes on when plugging one of these chargers in and then displays the battery but doesn't charge, and the LED doesn't light up. It does charge, however, when I'm using an external battery or in my car - the external battery claims to have an output of 2.1 A, which is higher than the Sony adaptor but which I suspect is a bit of a generous claim, and my car charger has an output of 1 A.

I also cannot connect the phone to the computer via USB, though I am going to try a repair using the PC Companion once the firmware has downloaded.

I'm currently using the latest Lollipop firmware, and the phone is not water-damaged.

Any ideas what could be causing this, or will I have to send my phone in for repair?
