can ok google open your phone even when your screen is off?

Can it be unlocked even when the screen is off via "ok google"? I noticed that it can only be unlocked when the phone screen turned off when it os only charging, bit when i unplugged the charger, it cant be opened when you say ok google

I know it can work while screen is LOCKED, but to get it work while it's OFF I don't think it's possible. May be only if you're using a smartwatch or bluetooth headset. I'll do some research to confirm this.

its working while the screen is off and black while the charger is connected, try it. Say ok google and it will open, however, if you disconnect the charger and the screen is off and black, its not working. i want to know if its gonna work when the screen is off and the charger'snot connected

Ok did my research: This option is hardwarre related, because it's a high battery drain option. It's active natively on Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 only. You can try an app called Open Mic+ but it might cause some battery issues:

Uli,I think it only works when the screen is on or the device is charging (if you enable ok google from any screen).

I agree with Alexdon: OK Google can work on Screen locked but active, or screen off but charging. Can't work while screen off and not charging.

That's correct the phone has to be charging for Ok google to work with the screen off.
