Touch Screen problem/ Ghost Touch

Hello.My Xperia Z Ultra which i purchased about two weeks ago (brand new) has some touch screen issues.

It clicks things by itself. For example the last time it happened i was in the home screen and it was opening the album app.

I was trying to close it an it was opening the app again and again for about 10secs.Another time i was typing a msg and it was keep pressing the letter ''y'' continiously.This has happened at least 20 times this week.I contacted SONY and they told me to do factory reset.I did and the problem still exists.The problem is mostly located few mm below the center of my screen.

What do you suggest might be the problem? Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

I have Android 4.4.4 and the latest build 14.4.A.0.108.

Thanks for the instant reply.The problem is that the authorised service center of SONY in my country has received a lot of official complaints and i want to know what might be the problem so that i can object to what they will say about the phone because they invent problems that they do not exist according to many customers.

Hello themis,

I had the same problem with my xperia Z ultra.Try this and tell me what you see:

1.Record a 10 min video.

2.Play it in loop for 4-5 times.

Does the problem persists?i

I was browsing through other pages for the z ultra and i might have found the issue.The screen did it again when i poured one drop of water and rub the screen.It might doing this beacause of sweaty fingers.I'm gonna check it and post again

Yep.A screen protector solved the problem.Looks like it was the over sensivity of the screen that caused it.One week now with the screen protector and it hasn't happened so far.

BRO ITS NOT SONY XPERIA Z ULTRA PROBLEM
If u r using clear scratch guard or tempered glass u will recieve such cases of ghost touch, my xperia z ultra occurred same problems, I changed 3 scratch guards,
But atlast I applied matte scratch guard and it's more den 2 weeks my xperia z ultra dint gave me any problems....
TRY THE WAY I DID...
I know it will work...

Hi,

I was facing same ghost touch issue with my sony xepria c4 from past 2 weeks or so. But wen i removed my Temepered glass from the screen, its been past 3-4 days phone is working fine..!! Wanted to confirm is it becoz of temepered glass?? Shall i go ahead with

Matte screen guard?? Coz its necessary to apply a screen guard to prevent from dust.

I just got this issue on my M5 dual. sent to service center, and was told this is a common issue.

then my phone will rapidly hang when I am using 2 sim cards in active.
