Removing delay when hanging up?

When talking on the phone and then taking the phone away from your ear, there's a delay where the screen is black for some seconds before it turns on. During this time, it is not possible to hang up the phone.

How can this delay be removed? I want the screen to turn on immidietly after I remove it from my ear, so I can press the hang up-button directly.

Is there anything covering the proximity sensor? grime, protective case, protective film

Nope.

I tested the proximity sensor in the service menu, there it reacts instantly. But when making a call there really seems to be a delay added. I would really like to remove this delay.

I tried this but I didn't notice any difference. There's still this completely pointless and annoying delay.
