Dear All,

I have recently purchased a brand new Xperia tablet Z2 with LTE. After having updated the os and sony bloatware, I am experiencing problems in viewing streaming videos on sites like Youtube, dailymotions and others. No matter what browser you use. ipersonally use chrome, opera and firefox.

Moreover I have copied and pasted some HD movies into the sd card and when there are scenic shoots (i.e. a drone hovering on mountains) the images are blurry.

What is the problem? Any solution?

I have already tried a factiry reset but it does not work.

If streaming of video doesn't work there might be something wrong with the internet settings in your tablet. Some operators proxy servers may for example cause issues for streaming. I recommend that you try removing proxy/port from the internet settings under Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names and see if that helps.

Also see if Youtube works in the preinstalled Youtube app.

I haven't noticed any issue with blurry video myself. What happens if you try to play these video files using another video player like VLC or MX Player?

Hi Rickard.

thanks for the reply. There is no proxy settings. I have just checked to be sure. i also use the app and I still have the same problem.

For HD videos I use MX player and VLC too. The result is the same: blurry definition (an this is supposed to be one of the most powerful tablet on the market). What can I do?

Does streaming work if you connect it with WiFi instead? Also try updating the software in it if you haven't tried that. You can do that from Settings -> About tablet -> Software update.

Are all videos blurry or does this happen with specific files? Could you try recording some videos with the camera in the tablet and see if the same thing happens?

I mainly use it in wifi. Sometimes in LTE. All apps are updated. Also Sony software and OS.

It happens all the time. It started after the recent updates of the OS. Ihave kitkat 4.4.4

build number 23.0.1.A.0.167

After this build the issue started. Not happy at all. Should I try a hard reset? should I flash the custom rom and instal a google factory image of kitkat?

Please let me know.

Something may have gone wrong when the software was updated in that case. Could you try performing a repair of the software in the tablet using a computer? You can do that using PC Companion or Bridge for Mac (http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz2tablet/software/) but please note that it will delete all data on the tablet.

OK: I will try later. No problems for data. I have already done a factory reset. At this stage I only have few pics, mp3 and movies. And there is still a backup.

By the way: the tablet has the monitor creaking and bending out on the top right corner. I have purchased it in Australia in October. I need to replace it. What should I do?

Ok: I have performed a couple of factory reset. Accessed with my google account and no back up installed.

Now the tablet works better but still video are blurry in VLC and MX player. In MX player the video is a bit pixelized.

Youtube works fine in browsers but the app do not load any video. So basically the tablet for multimedia file and streaming is not working fine. It literally **bleep** compared to other tablets. What can I do?
