Camera Not Working

I'm facing this error since I've bought the phone. My camera application shows an error saying camera not available whenever I try to click a photograph. Than camera screen goes black and I have to restart phone. I have already updated phone to latest available software but the promblem persists. Please help me what to do?
Other than that there is a strange icon on my notification bar that contains a very small 'T'. Please tell me what is this & how to remove it?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Do you mean that the screen goes black when you open the Camera application or a photograph in your Album? If the screen goes black when you open the Camera app, try to clear data for Camera via Settings > Apps > The tab "All" > Camera > Clear data.

Otherwise, I suggest that you boot your phone into safe mode to see if you experience the same behaviour:

The problem about the camera exist to most or i may say to all your z ultra phones. I think this is a major problem that a simple clearing of data and cache wont work. I personally experienced problem saying camera not available and i did cleared the data and cache but it did not work at all and i still experienced the same problem from time to time. I think sony should address this problem ASAP and create an update on their camera application to finally solve the problem..

The camera issue was gone as the phone upgraded to lollipop 5.0. The upgrade was great but the apps icon size was noticeably big unlike the old version. I hope Sony will bring back the old apps icon size in their 5.1 upgrade because its more classy and brings uniqueness to the phone...Thak you for you reply..
