I have an Xperia Tipo ST21i with Android 4.0.4 and have many problems with it. They didnt start after installing any particular app just always seemed "buggy" but getting worse.

Runs slow, hangs + freezes
Sometimes when typing on the keyboard it will freeze on one letter. Takes few seconds for touchscreen to respond when selecting menus

Gets stuck
Sometimes when unlocked apps will open on their own and the screen gets stuck on doing something without being touched and the only way to stop it is to take the battery out as it wont switch off. Eg calculator will open and type 111111111111111111111 etc until battery is removed or 101010101010... or another time it got stuck on trash can and started deleting apps from home screen.

Browser crash
This happens maybe 20 times a day. The browser will just freeze then close. Sometimes when youre swiping up / down the page, sometimes when typing. Often it will close all open windows + default back to home page.

Unresponsive in calls
Sometimes after dialing a number it wont call it, then after say 1 minute the call is open in thebackground and ringing. Or after making a call it wont hang up and if it goes to voicemail you have to take the battery out.

Wifi and mobile data 3G drops off and loses connection even when there is full signal. Have to turn the connection off and on again but even this sometimes does not work. It was repaired for this issue shortly after being bought but still happens now maybe 18 months later and is now out of warrenty.

It just seems generally unresponsive and slow and the touchscreen often has a mind of its own. I have followed some basic things: added an sd card and moved things to free up memory, deleted things I dont need from internal memory, checked the apps running in background, run a virus scan with norton, checked for latest updates but latest software is installed already and restart it often, bought a stylus because touch screen seems unpredictable. Nothing improves it.

Can someone from Sony provide some tech support?
Thanks

Thanks uliwooly but I dont imagine it would be worth sending it off for repair, the phone must be over 2 years old and it would probably be cheaper to get something new, so it has to be something I could do myself to try to fix it or improve the performance.
