Hi

I just got my Z1 (C6903) back from my network operators service center. Problem was sudden death at 70% battery level and i couldn't switch it on anymore. tried to have it on different (original sony) usb loaders and also the charging dock for several days at a time. Tried also power plus volume buttons, got the three vibs but it didn't help. Also tried PC companion without success. Anyway, now i received the phone after 3 weeks and they said that they just charged it normally. Like i tried for days with 3 diferent chargers.

And that they installed 4.4.4 firmware. And therefore more trouble.

Now I can start the phone, find Wifi and all, but can't connect to any operator network anymore.

- The simcard (4G) is inserted correctly. I am asked to enter the pin to unlock it.

- The simcard works just fine in another phone (Xperia E)

- The simcard is detected by any sim card manager app

- the simcard worked fine in this very phone before i delivered it to the service center.

- I have reset the phone with the power + volume button, get the 3 vibrations.

- I have done a factory reset in the menu.

- I have deletet the app cache in the storage menu

- I have done a repair (!) with the PC companion software. Software says successfully updated to 14.4.A.0.157.

- I have tried the above step a second time

- I have not yet thrown the thing down from my 4th floor window, but am willing to try it if it helps.

Thanks for any helpful suggestions!

Hi, as you seem to have tried most of the things that would normally resolve the issue my first port of call would be your Network Provider that has just looked at/repaired your phone........i would have thought it may have been a SIM issue but even it it was your Network Provider would deal with this anyway......give them a call or even better call in & 'speak' to them :smileysmileywink:

Yes....given it back into service now. Thanks for all suggestions! Sad that the service centre didn't test the phone for minimum functionality before sending it back.

Next update in 2-3 weeks... possibly with new and unexpected <STRIKE>faults</STRIKE> features....

Got a status update from the service centre:

"Sim card connected but no service. Remounted loose coax cable and tested ok for network"

How nice. The antenna cable was loose. Does this often happen spontaneousely? Or did it maybe happen during the first service run (phone wouldn't turn on) where there allegedly just was an empty battery (was 70% just before phone failing!) that they charged without any problems using a standard charger, making me look like a complete nitwit? And most probably opened the device because the standard charging actually didn't work? Changing the battery or doing whatever?

Really dissappointing customer service. They should at least keep their stories/repair reports consistent.
