Thanks uliwooly..tried both. My wife is on the same network and I have tried my sim on sn alternative phone.
I have sent off the phone for a second time. I have a strong suspicion that Sony didn't carry out a live call on the first repair.

network reception Xperia M2

I bought a new Xperia M2 with 3 network (UK) about 4 weeks ago. Previously owned a Samsung S3 galaxy for more than 2 years without any problems with connectivity. Right from the moment the phone was used for the first time, I had network issues with limited or no reception in and outside the house. These were places where I have never had any problems previously.

After replacing the SIM card, problems persisted. After a phone call to Sony customer service, it was suggested to repair the phone using the wbsite Repair feature. Then had to send the phone to a Sony repair centre. It was sent back after a Software upgrade (to one which already existed on the phone), a Live call which passed and QC passed.

Unfortunately, now it is even worse. I have no reception whatsoever and I get "no service ". Other network sims do not work either on the M2. So it appears clearly to be a handset issue. I have emailed the Sony customer service and await their response. My phone is still well within warranty, so no cowboy solutions please!

Never again will I be getting an M2..I am sorry guys, I know many of you will swear by this phone but this is my personal experience.

Many thanks

Vinay

1. Get a brand new MICRO SIM card

2. contact your carrier and check for network coverage issues

If the phone is less than 6 months old then UK law states that the 3 network must replace or repair your phone if they can't prove you caused the issue - I have the M2 and honestly have no issues - Tell a lie, I had no issues that was until my son pinched it from me now he's the issue

Thanks Thommo..I am currently awaiting the return of the phone after sending off for the second time.
My previous conversation with 3 was useless as they basically copped out saying that it was over the 14 day period and now it's between me and Sony.
Will keep the forum posted.
