My tablet selects without touching the screen

For the last week my tablet will select links on the screen without me touching the screen. For example while reading a book it will go to the next page or previous page without me touching the screen. It does it in multiple apps.I have cleaned the screen with a cloth. Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you boot your Tablet Z into safe mode to see if you experience the same behaviour:

Otherwise, a software repair via PC Companion would be recommended:

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

Hi I did it as you suggested but I still experiencing the same problem. What else can I do to fix it. It is extremely irritating. PLEASE HELP!!!

This is a known problem, and the answer to reset above is NOT helpful. I have had this problem ever since I have had this device, and at times it makes it unusable - in fact, I just visited this forum now to see if anyone has got a solution. It is caused primarily when the device is cold, or the atmosphere around the device is cold. Unfortunately, I use my device in a rather cold church to play music, and the cold can often make it very unreliable.

If the screen is grubby it seems to cause more problems.

So, my answers to HELP, but not sort out the problem, are to thoroughly clean your screen, and to use it when it and its environment is warm.

But I would dearly like to know a proper solution. The screen appears to become hypersensitive when cold - is there any way to decrease screen sensitivity?
