Hello Sony people.

I paired my new Z3 Mothership with a pair of MDR-EX450 headphones but I could not get a decent sound out of it using the Walkman app and all the sound options. I even handed it to my soundtech boyfriend thinking I was missing something and he spend a good 30 minutes going through everything. No dice. Especially the midrange was bad. Undefined and woolly. In the end we turned of every special sound feature and installed poweramp. I required some fiddling with the EQ but I now have very good sound.

The phone is capable of producing spectacular sound but the software is not working perfectly just yet.

Nope. I've read you lose DRM rights so it seemed a counter productive thing to do.

Also there is no lag and nothing that irritates me enough to root so I see no point in unlocking it.
