Screen "rainbow" effect

I have the device about a week ago and in general I am very pleased with the product. However there is one very - very disappointing issue with the screen:

The screen is very glossy and it has a weird vibrance, which gets really bad from specific angles. With white background from tight angles several "rainbow stipes" are visible on the screen. It is like if the glass had some tension inside. First I thought my screen is faulty, but it seems like to be general.

It is very annoying in everyday use :(.

I would gladly hear Sony's official opinion about it.

Note that I checked several items in different Sony stores and all had the issues thus I guess this is a global property.

This issue is also reported on XDA by others. Check yours with this post from side view. This is NOT normal.

Thanks, I've contacted them, nothing so far.

However, I have serious news.

I made some own pics about my problem (I, II, III) , and the anomalies suggested that this might be a polarization faliure. Tadaaa, BINGO. I checked with my CPL (Circular Polar Lens for my DSLR) and it revealed the beast.

Awful :/. Something is really messed up. Now I know what bothers my eyes.

Pointing the CPL to other displays make them coloured but the color stays homogenous.

Please, all you read this post, check your tablet to identify: what is the approximate precetange of faulty devices. If every Z3 Tablet Comapacts are involved I will return it immediatly (I have only a few days left), I don't want to live with it. Otherwise, I will need a replacement device from SONY.

To check, with a homogenous background (eg: google for "white" pictures, zoom to full screen) look at the screen from various angles aside. If you have a CPL lens (passive 3D movie glasses from cinemas also do the same), you can try my "trick" too.

Thank you guys.

I'm sure it isn't only with my device but I really hope, not all of them are issued.

If you think that device is faulty return it ASAP. Why? Because on the other hand you will need to deal with warranty process which always takes some time and potentially you can get refurb device. It is not bad but if you have right to replace or return the device do it. Better for you. Then buy another unit somewhere else and ask for ability to test for this issue before payment.

I think everybody has this effect on the screen of Z3TC but it's not a problem with display but a phisical phenomenon - spreading of light while looking at the screen in specific angle.

I have this too, but I also had it on my Samsung tabket and I have it on my phone. I think it's down to the glass that's used. Doesn't bother me tbh.

I have this too, my device is from week 22, therefore brand new production.

I see it when I look straight at the tablet and for me it makes reading web sites very uncomfortable.

For me this is a reason to return the tablet which hurts, because there is nothing comparable on the market

(beside the high brightness lag issue mentioned in another thread).
