Problems with PC Suite (phone detection)

Hi!

I've reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) recently, and once I had everything set up (additional apps, preferences, etc.) I found out about a new problem the PC Suite software (version 6.011.00) is causing.

This is the problem:

Once I try to connect the phone (Vivaz Pro) via USB (in PC Suite mode), Windows immediately recognizes the device (and the phone starts charging), but PC Suite says "device couldn't be recognized" and nothing helps to get it working.

(I've tried restarting the phone & computer, uninstalling/reinstalling PC Suite, using both an original and a newly purchased USB cable, using another USB port, and even REINSTALLING WINDOWS 7 TWICE, but it keeps coming up with the same problem. In addition, when I connect the phone in "PC Suite mode" after uninstalling PC Suite, the computer still recognizes it perfectly (which shows that uninstalling/reinstalling PC Suite is pointless as the drivers are not deleted upon uninstall).

BTW: My phone software/firmware is up-to-date, and I'm using the most recent version of PC Suite (6.011.00). I will probably reinstall windows again now (for the third time in a row, thanks to Sony Ericsson) and try version 6.009.00 as it used to work perfectly when I did the setup with an older software version.

I have seen this software causing trouble several times before (for example, it tried installing my mouse and hard discs as phones last time I installed it, so I had to delete the software to be able to use my other USB devices), so I knew it was one of the worst pieces of s...oftware ever programmed by man, but still this new error tops everything so far.

The problem is that it messes with the systems USB drivers, doesn't let the user correct anything (apart from restarting the devices or reinstalling) once the automatic set-up of devices fails as usual, and even if the software is deleted it doesn't remove the faulty drivers so next time you install it you'll definitely have exactly the same problem again.

INCASE SOMEONE WORKING FROM SONY-ERICSSON READS THIS: Stop programming software that relies exclusively on automatic setup/installation, as that prevents users from correcting the numerous errors you constantly have in your software. I have been a loyal SonyEricsson customer for a decade now, but if the software doesn't change and improve significantly I will without any doubt never buy a SonyEricsson product again and warn everyone seeking my advice (which happens frequently) not to make that mistake.

as readers can probably tell, I'm really enraged about this stupid SonyEricsson software

Thanks for any advice on how to fix this problem.

IllWill.

Why don't you use My Phone Explorer instead which among other things, also allows you to view messages without a phone connection and restore messages back to the phone, something which you cannot do with PC suite. It depends on what you need the sync software for, of course.

Have you tried Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0. Works where PC Suite didn't.

No I haven't, but the SonyEricsson website's support download section claims PC Companion isn't compatible to my phone (the Vivaz is relatively new). Will give it a try and let you know if it worked. Thanks.

If I connect my Experia Z phone to my PC it only recognizes the SD card and not the Phone/internal memory. I usually store the majority of pictures, music etc on phone/internal memory.

On my laptop at home it recognizes both the SD card and Internal memory.

PLEASE HELP
