location based WiFi not working

When I'm not at home I keep my xperia WiFi turned off. When I come home it doesn't turn automatically on even if I got my home WiFi registered on my phone! I always have to do that manually. Of course I have the option ON in "location based WiFi". Could somebody help me, please?

I tried several times in safe mode but the result is always the same! It doesn't turn on and off! What should I do?

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

You could give it a try,see if the device doesn't have a hardware problem related to wifi.

Hi! Perfromed the software repair with pc companion two days ago, everything went fine but the problem is always the same: WiFi doesn't turn on and off automatically! Rarely when I leave home or office it turns off, but after 5 minutes it immediately turns on again even if there's not a saved WiFi nearby and it stays turned on all the time unless I turn it off manually! I experienced the same with different WiFi connections! What should I do?

this is due to a software defect as mentioned by a sony rep in another thread. he also mentioned there is a fix on the way but no timeline has been published.

Yes, I'm currently dealing with the same issue. I bought my Z1C 2 weeks ago and this issue (not working automatic turn on/off - in fact automatic turn off works, but when I come back to the location of saved WiFi, it does not turn on !!!) is really annoying. Have there been any development ??? Many thanks!

Okay, so is this a friggin software or a hardware defect? I already purchased one and returned it because it had a faulty screen. I mean, this is a $750 phone where I come from, and I don't think this should be present in such a high-end device, especially if it's a software bug. Sony, this is not okay

One more thing, there was a system update recently, and I'd hoped it would solve the problem, but nothing was solved. It won't turn on automatically, it won't turn off automatically. It's a shame, cause this is a great feature
