unable to watch facebook videos using mobile data

im unable to watch facebook videos while using moblie data, a on on screen message appears saying sorry, but an unknown error occurred while trying to play this video.

while the z3 is able to play other videos eg own or youtube on mobile data but only able to play facebook videos using a wifi network.

Any help would be appreciated & ty in advance.

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

This could be related to a incorrect settings, try an auto download of settings.

Menu > Settings > More > Internet Settings > Accept disclaimer > Choose network.

Once they have downloaded, try accessing the videos as per normal.

Tried steps you adviesd & reinstalled facebook but still not able to play face book videos using mobile data.

my signal strength is at 3 bars,the wifes phone & old phone which are on same network have no problems viewing videos on facebook.

After searching internet this is a problem affecting most of the z series.

If the problem is only with facebook, then that's an app issue, you will have to contact and/or wait for FB to release an update to address this issue.

I dont think its a facebook app issue because the wife phone has no issues using same facebook version as I use & old phone can run the same version, so issue must be with the z3 compact

Just because an app work with a phone it doesn't mean it will work with a different Xperia or different brand.

The app works fine with the z3 besides im unable to play videos while using mobile data,Once I switch to wifi im able to view videos as normal.

It dose seam to be a problem with the z series as all you have to do is search for facebook video error on this site and you will find hundreds of people with the same problem.

They are a few other phones that facebook videos dont work but majority of complaints are about the z series.

As soon as Facebook get back to me I will post back here.

Just hope I can find a fix soon but you never know android 5.0 lollipop update will fix it.

Again this is NOT a Sony issue, this is a facebook issue as they are in charge of their apps, they have to address this bugs not Sony. just like if Gmail, Maps, Youtube starts acting up, it will be up to Google to address the issue not Sony

Having same problem on my new XPERIA Z3 compact. I cannot read the Facebook video even with good 4G signal, I can only read it when I am connected to the Wifi...

I hope Sony will fixe this bug as soon as possible, after many years with Iphone without any problem I choose sony for their hih levelof quality but I am very confused to face such kind of problem and so fast...

I read that it is not Sony bug? why it is working with other brand like samsung or LG?

I expect tha Lolipop will fixe the bug...

I have the same issues on my Z3 Compact, can't play facebookvideos via mobile network, only wifi.
